the two infamous dishes (Dal baath rotli saag and dhaal baath kadhi) are easily the two most despised dishes in the gujarati culture. I am looking for a way to perhaps “Americanize” the dishes so that it is essentially the same dish, but just tastes much better, that kids will like.
Oh by the way…they are meant to stay as vegetarian dishes…

Aw, man, are you serious?!? I loved saag as a kid! Still do! I can’t really think of a way to make someone like it if they don’t like spinach, though. Maybe make it saag paneer instead, although I guess some kids may not like paneer.
Hmm … for convenience my mom would sometimes replace tomato paste with ketchup in recipes. We liked that as children but I tried it as an adult and I preferred the tomato paste version.
Dhal with rice was probably me and my sister’s favorite. We begged my mom to make it more than just once a week (my dad hates it, so we actually didn’t get it often). As kids we liked it a little on the thin side, with lots of rice. One thing that made us like it so much is that we used to eat it with a TON of lemon juice. Oh, and here is one VERY important tip: we HATED cilantro as children. I love it now, but if you want your kids to eat the food, just leave the cilantro (leaves, seeds were fine) out of there. Applies to everything.
Oh, and from my experience: children think rotis are completely wasted on normal food. These creatures think they should be reserved for eating with butter and sugar, or even better, mango pulp mixed with cream!

I need to send a parcel of food items and utensils from Bangalore to Jamnagar, Gujarat. I do not want to send it by courier services but through parcel services. Are there any parcel services in Bangalore for this purpose? (I know ABT limited sends parcels across south india.)
